Insurance Coverage

Counselling programs are often funded directly by the insurance providers. For specific number of funded sessions or your coverage, please contact me for details.

ICBC Claims (Motor Vehicle Accident Injury Claims Services)

 If you have a claim from motor vehicle accident injury, ICBC provides counselling services under its funding/services plan. On or after April 1, 2019, you do not need a physician’s referral or lawyer if you have a claim number and seek counselling help within the 12 weeks of the date of the accident. Your counselling services are free for the first 12 sessions and would be extended for further sessions after that. Please ask me for further details.

Symptoms you may experience through MVA are, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety/ depression/ trauma (PTSD)/ panic attack
  • Insomnia/ sleep problems
  • Anger/ frustration/ fear
  • poor concentration/ poor memory
  • sensitivity to others/ irritability
  • suicidal ideation
  • blurred vision/ headache/ vertigo
  • fatigue/ low energy
  • physical pain and more

Extended Health Care (private insurance and employment assistance program)

 If you have a private insurance provider (such as Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife etc), or extended health care program through your employment, counselling services are most likely covered under the program. The exact coverage & duration depend on your insurance policy. Please check with your insurance provider. Let me know if you need help with this program; I can assist you further.

Crime Victim Assistance Program

If you have experienced violence (family violence or crime), and reported it to local police, the police would have given you the crime number. The counselling services under CVAP provides emotional support, healing from trauma, clarity on situations and decision making processes, and assertive way of living against the abuse/violence you experienced.
